The Vision / Brother / Don't Want You

Conjuring up images of the Sugababes getting roughed up by the Sneaker Pimps in some dark sleazy night-club, female four piece The Kut create music that washes over you in a black sultry haze.

Frontwoman Maha sings in low slung seductive croon whilst the rest of the band lay down slinky guitar riffs, pulsating bass lines and rattling drum patterns.  Of the trio of songs on offer here, THE VISION is a groove heavy affair that's frequently interrupted by squalls of metallic guitar blasts, and BROTHER a slinky little number that rides an insistent bass rumble and a jazzy guitar riff into suggestive dark trip hop territory.  The funk infused DON'T WANT YOU is perhaps the most smooth and slick sounding moment here, Maha's vocals taking a brief turn towards the less interesting unfortunately.

With enough potential and promise here to suggest The Kut as a band capable of very impressive things, this three track taster is an intriguing and tantalising first glimpse.

Hello..... we are The Kut. Sometimes being an all female band can be difficult, especially when the soundguy walks over to you and asks you when the band are going to get there! But these things inspire us to be really good at what we do.
