Talking On The Phone So Long Games People Play Holiday Drink Candy Cane Guy City Maybe Baby Pictures Moving Why Not Panic At The Party

The latest bunch of fresh faced indie rock wannabes to blast onto the music scene, The Banshee have arrived with their debut album PUBLIC TALKS, a record chock full of the kind of messy guitar pop that could well launch them straight to the top.
A ragged combination of the pop suss of Blur, the noisy guitar abuse of the Gang Of Four, the rock attitude of Oasis and the simplistic wonder of The Shins - The Banshee write songs that cram more energy and attitude into three minutes than many bands manage over entire albums.
If songs like TALKING ON THE PHONE and SO LONG don't having you leaping about playing air guitar and cranking up the volume, then its perhaps time to check your pulse for signs of life.  GAMES PEOPLE PLAY is an indie rock classic in the waiting, one of those guaranteed indie dancefloor fillers and the kind of thing that could see them do a Franz Ferdinand and suddenly find themselves household names.
The indie rock swagger of HOLIDAY DRINK is about as close to punk pop perfection as you can get, spiky guitar riffs and clipped vocal barks and yelps giving the impression of Blur getting schooled by the Gang Of Four.  CANDY CANE GUY recalls a time when The Libertines were fresh and exciting, before they descended into messy self parody,  strutting along with that same energy - messy, melodic and magnificent.
PUBLIC TALKS is a record that brims with the kind of energy and attitude thats sadly been missing of late; an album that isn't always pristine and perfect, its instead rough around the edges and full of character - a character that defines The Banshee as a band with heart and soul.  A short, sharp shock of a record PUBLIC TALKS hits you like a punch in the face but does it with such charm and joyfulness that you'll go away thanking it and begging it for more.

BIOGRAPHY
The Banshee are: Jago - guitar and voice, Nico - guitar and voice, Andrea - bass, Enrico - drums.
The Banshee are a classic four-piece r’n'r band, born in Genova in the year 2001, when the guys were still at high schools. Yes, they are really young, and they play the kind of music connected with the frenzy, the excitement and the light humor of “twenty-somethings”. They started listening to Maximo Park, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, and later they discovered the Jam, the early Supergrass, the Smiths, the Buzzcocks…Thanks God they are not afraid to write Songs, with refrains, hooks, great choruses, Songs that can attract sing-alongs at gigs or that can be simply whistled under the shower. Actually, The Banshee strongly believe that a band has the duty to communicate, to entertain, to make people happy with the way they spent their night at a venue. It’s all about guitars, silly voices, some cute sentences about girls, parties and city life. Garage-punk, oh yes, but with lots of irony and fun, and with a stylish attitude (definitely, they love Pulp more than Sex Pistols!). Back to the Basics, and so for the production of “Public Talks” we played our Ace choosing to work with Giuseppe Barone (Valvola, S.H.A.D.O. Records). At the end of July ‘06 Giuseppe (who produced - with Giacomo Fiorenza - Rollercoaster’s High Society), fixed the 10 tracks of the album at the Alpha Dept. Studios in Bologna, putting in the dirty job of working with 4 boys at their first studio experience all his good tastes, and his love for vintage sounds, that together with the modernist attitude of the band make “Public Talks” a must-have record for everybody who believe r’n'r is never out-of-date.
