THE ANSWER - COME FOLLOW ME

" A derivative and uninspiring single, COME FOLLOW ME at the very least offers a few cheap dumb rock thrills along the way."

Sounding like an AC/DC tribute act who've suddenly decided to write their own songs, but keep the sound exactly the same; The Answer appear to be the latest bunch of post-ironic rockers to emerge on the post Darkness musical landscape, a hard rocking outfit that trade in big riffs, thundering drum crashes and balls in the vice vocal yelping.
Taken from debut album RISE, latest single COME FOLLOW ME is another predictably cliched hard rocking guitar tune, technically proficient but severely lacking in the imagination and ideas departments. Lead singer Cormac Neeson growls his way through the songs with just enough conviction to get by, whilst guitarist Paul Mahon bangs out the Angus Young and Tommy Iommi inspired riffs with gusto; but its really not enough, The Answer sounding tired, cliched and derivative here.
COME FOLLOW ME bursts forth in a wave of big riffs and thundering drum patterns, enough to get the moshpits slamming perhaps; but offering very little beyond that. A derivative and uninspiring single, COME FOLLOW ME at the very least offers a few cheap dumb rock thrills along the way.
