FEEDBACK RECORDS

A North West four piece playing bitter sweet indie rock, Superkings are a band reaching for the epic with HIT THE GROUND RUNNING.
Obviously in debt to the likes of Nick Cave and The Tindersticks, Superkings are a band steeped in gothic splendour and darkly intoxicating charm; singer David Wright possessing a romantic croon full of yearning, a kind of cross between Guy Garvey, Nick Cave and Jarvis Cocker.  HIT THE GROUND RUNNING finds Wright putting that croon to effective use, emoting over starkly sombre piano chords and the swell of a violin, Natasha Cotton's subtle backing vocals providing just the right counterbalance of light amongst the darkness.
A potentially very special band in the making, HIT THE GROUND RUNNING sees Superkings making good on their early promise and emerging as the real deal.

BIOGRAPHY
Superkings are an intricate, bitter-sweet piano-pop outfit, dealing in slow, darkly-melodic love songs as well as upbeat, jazz-imbued indie gems.
They have become live favourites in their respective hometowns playing prestigious support slots with Jeffrey Lewis, Okkervil River, Isobel Campbell, Great Lake Swimmers and Jim Noir.
They possess that rare ability to remain both somehow timeless, while still rooting their sound in the here and now. Superkings' lyrics are the result of an unholy union of a lacerated heart and a darkly humorous mind, lending fitting gravitas to a powerful, moving sound and some beautiful arrangements. Indeed, Little Hope, Hit The Ground Running and Good To Have You Home are already classics in their own world and deserve now to be heard by a wider audience.
