Recalling the restrained atmospherics and moody ambience of artists such as the Boards Of Canada, Brian Eno and Labradford, AZURE sees the return of dance duo Slam, sculpting atmospheric ambient soundscapes from the starkest of arrangements and subtlest of nuances.
The first taster of their new material, AZURE finds Slam unveiling a hypnotic and intoxicating sound, a dark slice of electronica that fits somewhere slap bang between ambient and trance. Recalling some of the Orb's finest moments, AZURE is a languid and dreamlike affair, and pushing the nine minute mark, a single that gives Slam the room to expand their sound palette to encompass all the mood, atmosphere and texture to realise their vision perfectly.
