ALBINO RECORDINGS
With a sound that bridges the gaps between the Scissor Sisters and The Klaxons, Kilburn based three piece Paw Paw are a band making impossibly catchy pop music steeped in electro fused style.
Debut single WIRED OK finds the trio bursting forth with an impressive statement of intent, a glorious pop tune that takes its cues from eighties electro pop and injects it with a huge chorus and lashings of infectious melodicism. Amidst throbbing bass rumbles and slinky synth riffs, the sweet boy girl harmonies provide a giddy pop thrill; Paw Paw delivering one of the Summer's undoubted pop anthems. With STRANGE REACTION, Paw Paw make a slightly less impressive sound, the dry vocals emulating Marc Almond on a bad day and the song slowly descending into tired sounding retro eighties pop.
With WIRED OK, Paw Paw emerge as a pop trio that sound primed and ready to explode all over 2007; an undoubted Summer anthem in the waiting. Whilst elsewhere here, Paw Paw may struggle to reclaim that initial buzz, this is a trio with a presence that suggests great things.

The wait is over, pop friends. ‘Wired OK’ has finally burst out of cyberspace, splash-landing in a cup of Devo’s tea before drying out on Albino records…and it’s set to be the soundtrack of the summer.
The recipe behind paw paw’s music is simple: take one boy, two girls, add some synths - mix in sweet harmonies, lashings of dirty electro beats and a dash of pure pop puree - et voila!
Having contributed to records by Boy George, TY, Emma Bunton, So Solid and Sarah Nixey, the trio finally set about shaping their own musical landscape in 2005. Born just round the corner from Kilburn Pound Stretcher and raised on a diet of Depeche Mode, Bowie and LCD Soundsystem, paw paw are the missing link between Heaven 17 and Junior Boys.
The single comes backed by two versions of sci-fi lullaby ‘Strange Reaction’, the Day-Glo generation's very own Lady In Red, including a brutally seductive ‘5AM Dread Mix’ for hardcore insomniacs.
