Eyes On The Road
HACKPEN RECORDS
Combining the intensity of Radiohead with the subtle soundscapes of Sigur Ros, Ormondroyd are fine purveyors of the finest atmospheric, explosive rock. With shimmering guitars, pounding drums and aching, sweeping vocals, they project a rich, anthemic, yet totally original sound.
Taken from the superb debut album, HIT AND HOPE, latest single EYES ON THE ROAD finds Sheffield's Ormondroyd plying their trade in shimmering guitar lines, firework noise explosions, skittery drum patterns and emotive vocal crooning.
EYES ON THE ROAD rides along on a skittery drum and bass pattern, Ste Mills and Ollie Birtill laying down magical guitar lines and Rob George's spacey synth stabs washing everything in musical silk; the sound of My Bloody Valentine getting it on with Ride and Slowdive.
The sound of Ormondroyd taking all the best parts of Sigur Ros, Radiohead and Coldplay, shaking them up in a giant snow globe and then smashing it up in an explosion of spine tingling sound and emotion. Make no mistake Ormondroyd are very special indeed, here and ready to steal your hearts.
