DEEP PRODUCTION COMPANY
TRACKLISTING Wallpaper Untitled One Destroy Mona Lisa Papers Nephu Huzzband are a Nottingham based four piece who whilst perhaps not a band pushing any musical boundaries, are a proposition bashing out pleasingly effective indie rock.
With a sound somewhere between Hundred Reasons, Far and The Cure, Nephu Huzzband blend emo, goth and indie rock on their PAPERS EP, a collection of songs that make all the right alternative rocking noises. Opener WALLPAPER is a gently effective affair that's all spidery guitar lines, scattershot drum patterns and vocals that fall somewhere between Robert Smith and Kele Okereke. UNTITLED ONE is a more urgent sounding song that hinges on a catchy little chorus, whilst DESTROY MONA LISA finds Nephu Huzzband sounding like the Cure jamming with Bloc Party.
The PAPERS EP is a decent enough indie rock affair, Nephu Huzzband may not exactly stamp any marks of originality or innovation on affairs here, but make a damn fine noise all the same.
