Misha Williams may make predictable conveyor belt pop, but unlike so many of her similar sounding contemporaries, she at least sounds as if she means it and injects a little soul and passion into her performance. UNEXPECTEDLY is upbeat bubblegum pop with crunchy powerchords and vocals that veer between shouty exuberance and a slick RnB croon, Misha Williams managing to merge together all the important parts of Britney Spears, Hilary Duff and Girls Aloud into one neat package.
Far from groundbreaking, UNEXPECTEDLY is predictably typical stuff; inoffensive but pleasant in its own way. The fact that Misha Williams possesses a more than decent voice will stand her in good stead and while a song like UNEXPECTEDLY isn't going to leave you stunned she makes a confidently classy first impression here.
BIOGRAPHY
Having already been hotly-tipped by favourite pop magazines Shout, Flipside, TOTP and Cosmo Girl, as well as successful appearances on Radio 5 Live and Capital Radio, Texan-born pop starlet Misha Williams is preparing to take the pop world by storm in 2007, with the release of her new single UNEXPECTEDLY, on February 25th.
Taken from her debut album, TAKE IT LIKE IT IS, UNEXPECTEDLY sees Misha sing about adolescent frustration, humour and common teenage experiences in an expertly colourful and fun-loving style, making this fantastic track the perfect pop single. With an impressive average of fifty gigs a year throughout the last seven years. Misha is set for stardom, and this cracking single UNEXPECTEDLY proves she has what it takes. Her past performances have included live collaborations with the likes of Lee Ann Womack and close-friend Hilary Duff. First spotted for her exciting potential at the tender age of 9, it was almost a certainty that at some stage the record industry would be alerted to her singing and song writing talents, which have already earned her a number of high profile awards including first-place in the Billboard World Song-writing Contest. As a result, in 2003 she teamed up with Grammy-nominated producer John Ravenhall, and they set about developing her clean-cut, immaculate pop sound.
