BIOGRAPHY
Marsha Swanson is a singer/songwriter from London. With a distinctive English folk-tinged voice and direct delivery, there is a deceptive simplicity to her songs. Her music reflects inspiration from classic singer songwriters such as Carole King and John Martyn, through to the modern atmospheric soundscapes of Fiona Apple and Beth Orton.
The conception of Marsha's debut album WATERSHED began with an extended development deal with Ruth Rothwell at Universal Publishing.
This allowed the time and space for Marsha to nurture her own individual sound and style. During this time whilst working in a rehearsal studio in Shepherds Bush, she met a group of like-minded musicians who form the current line up both on the album and live.
2005 was a hectic and successful year for Marsha, releasing two singles HOOVERING THE SKY and LOSING ME, both were met by a wave of critical acclaim enabling Marsha to sign a major deal with nationwide distributor Proper Distribution. Marsha also completed a full UK tour, picking up a host of new fans and musical admirers.
