MARIE MILLER - NO ORDINARY GIRL

"NO ORDINARY GIRL is slick mainstream pop perhaps, but shot through with enough personality and commitment to shine."

No Ordinary Girl / How Do I Get There
SMALL DOG MUSIC

Still managing to rise above the majority of her pop contemporaries by virtue of actual talent and personality, Marie Miller continues to quietly impress with her latest single NO ORDINARY GIRL.
Unmistakably slick, mainstream pop stuff, NO ORDINARY GIRL is an undoubtedly classy slice of upbeat pop, traces of country, modern RnB and soul abound here; a collision between Leann Rimes, Christina Aguilera and Joss Stone. Centred around an infectiously catchy chorus line, this is the kind of radio-friendly pop that gets stuck in your head moments after the first listen. Flipside HOW DO I GET THERE on the other hand finds Marie Miller delving into dull pop balladeering, all slick processed beats, watered down vocals and predictably depressing melodrama; hopefully not a sign of things to come.
Another impressive sounding single from Marie Miller, NO ORDINARY GIRL is slick mainstream pop perhaps, but shot through with enough personality and commitment to shine.

Marie's musical career started early, leading her to her first band Plush and a signing to EMI. But with ambition way beyond the Danish charts Marie soon realised the UK was the creative place to be so uprooted her recording career across the North Sea to London, setting up her own label, Small Dog via Universal. In 2005 she sang on the Stonebridge mixes of Can't Slow Down and Playground, which both reached the heady heights of no 2 in the MW club charts last year, a platform from which she has been able to develop her album. Her determination to form a band around the songs on the album has enabled her to form a formidable live outfit, a band that will hit the road this year.
