LILY ALLEN@EDEN PROJECT, CORNWALL
" tonight Lily Allen has proved herself a true star. Another triumphant night for the Eden Sessions. "
Track Listing > >
JULY 18 2007
Following the previous nights disappointment of the Amy WInehouse performance, the Eden Sessions return to form with a superb set from Lily Allen this evening. With the sun shining and the stunning setting, tonight sees the pop star truly rising to the occasion; delivering a performance that leaves no doubt in the mind that Lily Allen is a bona fide star.
First up this evening though, Mark Ronson takes to the stage and over the course of forty five minutes very nearly steals the show. Joined by a throng of guest vocalists and musicians; Ronson gets things off to a storming start, soon joined by vocalist Daniel Merriwether for a version of Britney Spear's TOXIC. Phantom Planet's Alex Greenwald appears towards the end to run through CALIFORNIA before the set climaxes in a wash of huge grins, stage invasions and a rip roaring take on the Zutons VALERIE.
As Lily Allen takes to the stage in a white dress and launches into hits like LDN, SMILE and SHAME, it's clear that this is someone destined to emerge as a true star, a performer with the songs,
attitude and confidence to win over even the most cynical of hearts.
Taking on the Specials GANGSTERS and Blondie's HEART OF GLASS, Lily Allen makes the stage her own, chatting to the audience between songs with an easy going charm and a cheeky sense of humour. As she's joined on the stage by Mark Ronson for a storming run through of the Kaiser Chiefs OH MY GOD before encoring with a winning rendition of ALFIE, tonight Lily Allen has proved herself a true star. Another triumphant night for the Eden Sessions.
