BEST BEFORE RECORDS
TRACKLISTING Champagne Girls I Have Known The End And Everything After Suicide Pact, Yeah? Yes! You Talk Too Fast Sofacore This Band Is Killing Us A kind of Funeral For A Friend with added lo-fi attitude and random bursts of noise, Birmingham outfit Johnny Foreigner are a band making a gloriously messy and angular racket.
ARCS ACROSS THE CITY is a mini LP that showcases the bands uncanny knack for crafting ramshackle screamo by way of art rock pop tunes, equal parts Funeral For A Friend, Franz Ferdinand, Ash and Urusei Yatsura. Opener CHAMPAGNE GIRLS I HAVE KNOWN is awash with skronky guitar noise and yelped vocal tics, Johnny Foreigner making their presence instantly known in a flurry of agreeable noise and distortion. THE END AND EVERYTHING AFTER is a stellar pop tune wrapped up in generous helpings of fuzzed up guitar abuse, discordant power chords underpinning the delicious male/female vocal exchanges. SUICIDE PACT, YEAH? is another deliciously messy collision of screamo and lo-fi art rock, all handclaps, chants and distortion.
Wonderfully messy, noisy guitar pop; Johnny Foreigner are a Birmingham three piece whose art rocking screamo comes like a glorious wake up call amidst an increasingly bland indie scene. ARCS ACROSS THE CITY is a collection of songs guaranteed to delight, surprise and engage.
BIOGRAPHY
Johnny Foreigner burst out of the second city in a feedback hurricane of thrilling new-wave fight pop. The three-piece, formed little over 12 months ago, come armed with a blistering array of melodious, discordant rackets that leave an immediate, indelible gunshot on the brain. This is inventive, exciting, angular art-pop - Johnny Foreigner won't be strangers to you for long.
