If you're looking for something a little chilled out and ambient, music aiming to create the right kind of soothing atmospheric mood, relaxing and luxurious downtempo ambient soul, then Goloka have exactly what you need.

With album AFTERGLOW, Goloka are on intoxicating and sumptuous form; DJ Mr Haywood and vocalist Kasia collaborating on a collection of songs to soothe, relax and inspire.  Opener GIVE ME LOVIN' is the perfect start, Kasia's breathy whispered vocals dancing over shimmering piano chords and waves of ambient sound; just think Zero 7 meets Goldfrapp on some Ibiza beach at 3am.  LIBERTY SHADE is another slice of chilled out pop majesty, Goloka expertly bridging the gaps between ambient, trance, hip-hop and pop whilst the sublime sounding THINKING ABOUT YOU delivers all the intoxicating moodiness you could ever hope for, the track providing the perfect blend of downtempo beats and smooth musical moods, you can almost see that beautiful sunrise gently popping up over the ocean here with vocalist Kasia presenting a certain exotic, but detached cool, purring her lines out with a sensual air and Mr Haywood laying out the cool beats and hypnotic trance.

Songs like COMPROMISE, TOBACCO SLIDE and TAXI DRIVER are similarly blissed out affairs that hardly break from the Goloka formula; further taking you on a journey into sumptuous ambient territory.  The less essential AIN'T NO GAME is an unfortunate detour into commercial dance territory, tired sounding beats and dull house vocals from Kasia colliding on a tune that's forgettable and indistinct.  Its a fortunately brief break in quality though, as the dusty atmospherics of SLEEPLESS IN WARSAW soon drifts along to get things back on track.  Title track AFTERGLOW is a suitably intoxicating tune that leads beautifully into the climactic BLUE, another classy slice of excellence that keeps things downtempo, swooning and beatific.

Sublime and magical, AFTERGLOW makes for pleasant, relaxed listening.  Goloka make for an intoxicating and sometimes beautiful distraction.

Brighton DJ legend Mr Haywood and compiler of quality collections Hotel St Tropez, Voyeur, FSO and Comfort Zone, presents his new project Goloka.

Releasing on the new quality i-label (label home of Steve Miller's Afterlife and Neil Cowley's Pretz), the Goloka album AFTERLIFE is a step away from the sound normally associated with his towering presence at Brighton's massive Wild Fruit parties.  Together with production partner and songstress Kasia, Mr haywood's Goloka explores territories a step away from the dancefloor...

The proof of this wave-making project is the inclusion of their sublime THINKING ABOUT YOU on this summers hot Cafe Mambo collection.  The track was written by Mr Haywood and a pre Freemason's James Wiltshire with the help of Kasia's voice tones recorded direct from her native Poland via answering machine.  THINKING... typifies the contemporary Ibiza sunset experience and leads the sound of Afterglow in an encompassing, deep, genre defying album of future electro slo groove moments.

Mr Haywood and collaborator, minx and songstress Kasia delivers a lust laced, cool downtempo collection of grooves that's hotter than the finest haute coutre and more exotic than any European embrace you'll be likely to feel.
