DEFINITIVE JUX
Lifted from the forthcoming long player I'LL SLEEP WHEN YOU'RE DEAD, new single FLYENTOLOGY sees the return of former Company Flow mainman and Definitive Jux label boss El-P. Collaborating with the heavyweight likes of the Mars Volta, Cat Power, Darryl Palumbo and Matt Sweeney on the album, El-P is cementing his position as an alt-rap pioneer this time round.
FLYENTOLOGY finds him combining forces with Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor on a tough sounding slice of hip hop thats all cold clinical beats, gruff rapping and pitch black attitude. Reznor's contribution may appear a bit blink and you'll miss it, but dig beneath the surface and FLYENTOLOGY is every bit as dark, nasty and industrial as anything Nine Inch Nails have ever committed to tape.
A dark and gritty slice of leftfield hip-hop, FLYENTOLOGY announces the return of El-P with brutal force.
BIOGRAPHY
Emcee, composer, label boss and producer El-P proudly presents FLYENTOLOGY - a soaring single which unites his own intense, powerful vocals and production with those of co-pilot in sonic innovation, Trent Reznor. The song is taken from El-P's forthcoming solo album, I'LL SLEEP WHEN YOU'RE DEAD. A brilliant and blistering magnum opus, the album is a thrilling wake up call that - like FLYENTOLOGY - has been made with a blatant disregard for genres and supposed musical boundaries. The album features a diverse array of notable collaborators, including: The Mars Volta, Mr Lif, Matt Sweeney (Guided By Voices, Chavez, Zwan), Murs, Darryl Palumbo (Head Automatica, Glassjaw), Aesop Rock and Cat Power.
