DJ Jazzy Jeff may unfortunately be forever best known as the comedy sidekick to Will Smith on The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air; his early work with Smith as DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince in the mid eighties an all but forgotten sidebar to his career.
However, here with the first taster from his forthcoming THE RETURN OF THE MAGNIFICENT long player; he well and truly grabs back some real respect, bringing together a collection of classic old skool hip hop to die for. The follow up to 2001s massive THE MAGNIFICENT, this is Jazzy Jeff continuing to impress, collaborating with the likes of Rhymefest, Little Brother and Raheem DeVaughn on this five tracker taster. Lead track JEFF N FESS sees Jeff teaming up with Kanye West's latest protégée Rhymefest on a slick slice of old skool hip hop that's all funky basslines, chilled out beats and impressive sounding record scratching; Rhymefest himself weighing in with tough rhymes to top the whole thing off. The soulful MY SOUL'S NOT 4 SALE features Raheem DeVaughn on supersmooth vocal duties, a delicious portion of classic soul whilst the C.L Smooth starring ALL I KNOW is another laid back hip hop slab of excellence. BOSSYNOVA is a slick Latino inspired beat fest that ends things up on a tantalising climax, the kind of thing to leave you salivating for more.

The Grammy award winning DJ Jazzy Jeff presents the follow up to 2001s hugely successful release THE MAGNIFICENT with a brand new album entitled THE RETURN OF THE MAGNIFICENT, due to be released in February. As a preview for RETURN OF THE MAGNIFICENT BBE/Rapster Records will be releasing a 5 track 12" EP which serves as the perfect taster to the full length album. The EP features Kanye West's new protégée Rhymefest, the infamous CL Smooth, North Carolina's Little Brother, Neo soul superstar Raheem Devaughn and the new instrumental Latin cut BossyNova. RETURN OF THE MAGNIFICENT already promises to be one of 2007s highlights, as Jeff himself says "This is turning out to be the best record I have ever done".
