Chelsea Girls
Still Like Your Clothes

Partying like its 1984 all over again, David E Sugar is someone who sounds like he's been frozen in time and transported to 2007 from the era that taste forgot.
Latest single CHELSEA GIRLS is a bleeptastic reinvention of all things new romantic, electro pop and retro; Sugar practically sounding as if he's stolen some long lost but classic forgotten Human League and Heaven 17 recordings and spliced them together as his very own. Unarguably fantastic stuff, if a little heavy in deja vu. Flipside STILL LIKE YOUR CLOTHES is a more intriguing, surreal affair; simultaneously recalls The Clash, The Specials, Beck and the Klaxons, David E. Sugar crooning out over stark reverb heavy guitar riffs, dub heavy synth sounds and processed beats.

BIOGRAPHY
David E. Sugar is a shining example of everything that the inspired musician can be in 2007: whether detonating dancefloors worldwide with his awe inspiring lap-top sets, writing emotionally charged pop gems, remixing the likes of Klaxons and Rumblestrips, or tearing up venues with his rock 'n' roll infused five-piece live band, he is a true future music maverick, and 'Chelsea Girls' is proof positive of his myriad talents.
Ever since he emerged as a hero of the 8-bit music scene, it was clear that David Sugar had much more to offer than your average Gameboy mangling techno warrior. His first release on Brikabrak - the 'David E Sugar vs. Ears EP' - showed that he could harness his beat science to gritty MCing, whilst this year's 'Oi New York, This Is London' for Grecoroman, showed another side of his production prowess. 'Chelsea Girls' takes the David Sugar story on yet further; combining his enviable grasp of electronics with a blast of rock 'n' roll attitude and a killer vocal performance from David himself, this is the single that makes it clear that a true crossover star has arrived. With radio support already coming from DJs as varied as Pete Tong and Zane Lowe, and fans including Kate Nash and Calvin Harris queuing up to sing his praises, a whole new audience is about to get acquainted with David E. Sugar.
David is already renowned for his ability to rock a party armed only with his trusty lap-top, as anyone who caught him supporting Calvin Harris on his recent tour can testify. This summer David has assembled a five-piece live band, fronted by himself on guitar and vocals, and a host of dates are scheduled for Autumn. Catch them live now to get a taste of the soundtrack to 2008's festival season.
