A new UK RnB duo dealing in super smooth mainstream pop Cushh consist of South Londoners Miss Nic'ola and E2 . Debut single DO IT 2 ME sees the duo unleashing their Black Eyed Peas meets Kelly Clarkson pop.
This is strictly by-the-numbers smooth RnB stuff, DO IT TOO ME, all slick production skills and over familiarity, soothing in a coma inducing kind of way but hardly the kind of thing to leave you stunned or amazed. Undoubtedly the kind of thing Cushh need to get them played on daytime radio though, DO IT 2 ME fitting right into that inoffensive mid tempo RnB zone that you can never seem to escape.
Polished and slick to the point of exhaustion, DO IT 2 ME is about as safe and reliable a modern RnB record as you're ever likely to hear; no surprises or left turns here, just the usual combination of bland beats and soothing melodies you've heard countless times before. Polished and predictable, at a stretch even soulful and smooth; DO IT 2 ME is a song that just never excites or thrills and its a fact that any number of remixes fails to remedy.
BIOGRAPHY
Released February 12, 2007 through E-Park Records DO IT 2 ME is the outstanding debut single from brand new breakout UK duo Cushh.
Described as the UK's own answer to 'The Black Eyes Peas' Cushh - comprised of South Londoners Miss Nic'Ola and E2 - have successfully produced a unique blend of R&B and Pop, and an edgy and original debut single with DO IT 2 ME.
E2s rapping lends itself perfectly to Miss Nic'Ola's stunning vocals, which she delivers with an effortless sensuality and with a depth and quality reminiscent of greats like Christina Aguilera and Kelly Clarkson. E2 says, "When Miss Nic'ola came on board, it was like she was the missing piece of the puzzle - the puzzle is now complete and Cushh are ready to take on the world."
Cushh who wrote, arranged and produced DO IT 2 ME are currently putting the finishing touches to their highly anticipated debut album scheduled for release in Spring 2007 - it's already creating a massive buzz throughout the industry. So much so that Cushh have already caught the attention of hit music video director Daniel Zirilli. Zirilli insisted Cushh jet out to LA so that he could direct the accompanying video - not bad since he has also shot videos for The Rolling Stones, Three Six Mafia, Scarface, Master P and 2Pac to name but a few.
