Pistols At Dawn / Pistols At Dawn (Radio Edit)
TRY SCIENCE! RECORDS
Sounding exactly like The Libertines stuck in a jam session with Razorlight, suffering from a serious Police obsession; London based four-piece Circuits make an upbeat indie-pop noise that dips its toe in reggae, punk and ska. Following former singles, RADIO SILENCE / HALF READ BOOK and SAY NO SAY YEAH / QUESTION MARK SHAPED HEART, PISTOLS AT DAWN is the bands latest slice of perky pop.
Appearing to have taken that Police obsession to stalker like proportions though, PISTOLS AT DAWN finds Circuits morphing into Sting and the boys before your very eyes. From the delay heavy guitar stabs to vocalist Benny's Sting impersonations, this is basically Walking On The Moon given a 2007 indie rock makeover and left to fend for itself. Its not to say PISTOLS AT DAWN isn't an enjoyable slice of perky new wave pop, just that its a very familiar one that you'll have doubtless heard before.
Still, another decent enough effort from Circuits and another catchy single that'll surely see them prick up a few fresh new ears along the way.
BIOGRAPHY
London based reggae infused punk 4-piece Circuits are to release their debut single on June 12th.
Circuits have spent the better part of 2006 creating a substantial live buzz as well as a loyal following: gigging alongside such artists as The Holloways, Rumble Strips, Howling Bells, Crazy Girl, Sargasso Trio and The Fever, as well as making appearances at FROG@Meanfiddler, Throwing Rocks@Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes and Cargo, as well as too many more of London's less salubrious venues to mention.
"As refreshing as an explosion in an Um-Bongo factory", according to Artrocker.
Inspired by an eclectic bunch of both artists and genres but with their hearts and minds belonging to dub and reggae, they bring you their very own brand of rocket fuelled pop punk at breakneck speed. Drenched with dub bass, Morse code like guitar, relentless drums and melodic hooks: it's frantic, it's fast and twitching with energy.
