CINDERS FALL - CINDERS FALL

" Whether CINDERS FALL brings anything particularly fresh or inspired to the table is perhaps debatable, but you can't deny Cinders Fall are a band at the top of their game.. "

Living proof that some thing never change, Essex thrash metallers Cinders Fall are a six piece outfit banging out a heavy metal racket that's barely changed since about 1986. With their self titled mini LP, the band are a whirlwind of speed metal guitar riffs, frenetic drum beats and screaming vocals; a punishing sound that belongs somewhere between Napalm Death, Slayer and Slipknot.
Songs such as ARMY OF ONE and THE BEAUTY AND THE FURY sound exactly as you'd expect, words like brutal, punishing and apocalyptic springing immediately to mind. With a hint of nu-metal LIVE ON A MINUS is perhaps the weakest track on offer here, whilst the frantic SEPTEMBER WILL FALL is reminiscent of Avenged Sevenfold in its complex riffing, epic guitar harmonies and crashing choruses.
Elsewhere IN THOSE FIVE SECONDS is another brutal thrash metal screamalong and closing number (DEFY) THE AXIOM, a frantic eruption of ultra heavy guitar riffs and guttural belches.
As purveyors of punishing thrash metal, Cinders Fall are a band impossible to fault, delivering the kind of brutal hardcore metal that whilst hardly original is done extremely well. Whether CINDERS FALL brings anything particularly fresh or inspired to the table is perhaps debatable, but you can't deny Cinders Fall are a band at the top of their game.

BIOGRAPHY
>From the beginning, Cinders Fall has evolved from a hard rock band to
>an
outfit that combines elements of thrash, hardcore, melodic and even death metal. The band also plays host to a mixture of vocal styles, predominantly making use of higher pitched-screaming lyrical bursts with touches of low, doom style growls and sung melody.
Musically, lead guitarist James Bartram's goal in writing is to produce technically complex riffs and structures that offer the listener not only great hooks but also a catalyst to stop and think about what they are actually listening to. Rather than the bog-standard concoctions offered up by most mainstream, 'overnight success story' metal bands. Lyrically, vocalist Anthony Masters writes melodies that both compliment the music laid down by Bartram and also deviates from what would typically be expected.
The lyrics themselves are inspired by literary sources and deal largely with themes such as escapism, personal growth and embodying the impossible.
Crowd control comes naturally to frontman Masters as he whips crowds into circle pits and devastating walls of death, increasingly becoming known as 'Cinders Walls'. But the pits are not only for the audiences at CF shows, they are often home to the band members themselves with Sullivan striving to continue to play his axe whilst whilst fending off adrenaline fuelled moshers, and Eatherton abandoning his workstation to join in the annihilation. Live shows are about blood, sweat and tears for the boys of Cinders Fall and they want the same from their audiences.
A new kind of brutality is arising...
