Psycho Mikal / Girlfriend From The Deep / My Awesome Worktools Of Doom / Diane Your A Ghost
SELF RELEASED
Returning with another effortlessly joyous slice of upbeat pop genius, The Burt Bacharak Fight Club are a band bashing out two minute pop songs drenched in fuzzed up guitar noise and chirpy keyboard blasts.
Partly risen from the ashes of lo-fi bubblegum popsters Nutronstars, The Burt Bacharak Fight Club make similar noises; Bob Tarbuck's upbeat vocal yelps a by now recognisable seal of quality. Continuing to just get better with every release, the PSYCHO MIKAL EP is the bands finest moment to date, a clutch of song that cements their position as indie popsters per excellence.
Lead song PSYCHO MIKAL is a brash slice of indie pop that imagines Helen Love channelling the Kaiser Chiefs, all impossibly catchy choruses and razor sharp guitar shapes. Elsewhere, the equally fine GIRLFRIEND FROM THE DEEP keeps things abrupt, brash and in-your-face whilst the glam rocking stomp of MY AWESOME WORKTOOLS OF DOOM brings to mind equally Franz Ferdinand, XTC and Bis.
Smart, snappy, punk rock thrills with added bubblegum pop goodness, The Burt Bacharak Fight Club make for thrilling listening. As purveyors of two minute punk pop tunes with bite, The Burt Bacharak Fight Club are in a league of their own.
