That American Stadium rockers, Aerosmith are still alive after the amount of drinks and drugs they've consumed over the years is a miracle, yet even more surprising is the fact that they are still coming out with music as good as this. Jaded is the first single to be taken from their forthcoming album, Just Push Play, and is well up to the high standards set up by their impressive back catalogue of hits.
Jaded starts off on a slightly eastern tinged guitar riff and thundering drums before the Steve Tyler/joe Perry interplay waeves it magic into a AM radio rock classic. There's just something about Steve Tyler's vocals and Joe Perry's guitar sound that screams rock n roll, you can hear the years and years of rock n roll lifestyle in every word and guitar chord, like they were born to do this.
Jaded is simply a great Aerosmith record with all the usual ingredients of guitars, vocals, orchestral flourishes and feel-good vibes.
Won't Let You Down, is more of the same classic rock that they just do so well and also included is their last number one hit, I Don't Want To Miss A Thing, which is good to hear again.
Its great to see a band that must be well into their 50s by now, still sounding so full of passion and belief in what they're doing. It's just a bit sad that they sound more vital and exciting than a lot of bands more than half their age, that are cloggin up the charts at the moment.
